About me

My name is Karen Gregg and I am a specialist speech and language therapist with 20 years experience.

Since graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2001 with a Bsc (Hons) in Psychology and Speech Pathology, I have gained a wide range of clinical experience within both the NHS and private sector.  I have worked with children and young adults in a variety of settings including community clinics, mainstream and special schools, nurseries, child development centres and a specialist multi-disciplinary team for children with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.

I am experienced in working with children with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties, however my particular interests and specialisms are working with children and young people with:

As a busy Mum of 3 myself, I understand how important it is to include parents in the therapy process. I feel passionately about working closely with parents and other important adults in a child’s life to make therapy goals functional and achievable.  Above all, I aim to make therapy a fun and engaging process that enables children and young people to reach their full communicative potential.

I am registered with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), RCSLT (Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists) and ASLTIP (Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice).  I also have a current enhanced DBS certificate for children and adults.

  • Autistic Spectrum Disorder

  • Down Syndrome

  • Physical and/or learning disability

  • Children with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) needs such as Makaton signing, PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and other low or hi-tech communication devices.

  •  I also work with pre-school and school aged children with language delay/disorder or speech sound difficulties.
